René Willemsen Steps Down as Chairman of Plantion’s Cooperative Board

René Willemsen is stepping down early as chairman and board member of the Plantion cooperative. René suffered a stroke this summer and has decided to focus fully on his recovery in the coming period. His recovery is progressing well, and he looks to the future with confidence. He also wants to ensure he can continue to devote sufficient attention to his own business, pot plant nursery Willemsen Weijs.

René has served two terms as chairman of the Plantion cooperative board. During his tenure, he has been committed to the cooperative and its members, dedicating himself to their interests over the past years.

For the time being, René’s duties as chairman will be taken over by current vice-chairman Mickey Hogervorst of Royal Roses and Royal Hydrangea. He will assume the role of chairman until a new chairperson is appointed.

René looks back on his time as chairman of Plantion with appreciation:
