Van kweker naar consument
Have you ever wondered where the flowers and plants you buy from a florist or garden centre come from? Before they end up in your vase or garden, they go on a journey. An important part of that journey takes place at Plantion, a flower auction in Ede, where growers and buyers come together.
From grower to auction
Flowers and plants are grown by dedicated growers who ensure strong and healthy products, from houseplants and garden plants to cut flowers. Once ready for sale, they are transported to Plantion early in the morning and placed on trolleys, ready for auction.
From auction to store and consumer
After the auction, flowers and plants are prepared for transport. They are loaded onto trucks and delivered to florists in the Netherlands and sometimes to other countries. There, they are displayed so you can buy them to brighten your home, garden or balcony.
Freshness and quality
Flowers and plants move quickly from grower to store through an efficient route. Thanks to this short supply chain, they stay fresh, shops can offer a constantly up-to-date assortment, and consumers enjoy a fresh and appealing presentation.
